The heroic developers who are willing to take the leap now, pave the way for everyone else to follow. It's the same dilemma MS faced for years, but if Windows ever became profitable for software devs, it's because they made it so. People also tend to forget that it took Windows nearly 15 years to establish itself as being superior to DOS for gaming, lol. I say this a lot, I remember a time when the thought of writing a game for Windows would get you laughed out of a room. Windows would have been nothing without software that ran on it. Remember Microsoft had to make the same pitch: "Developers, developers, developers!". In my experience as more titles are released the more people are willing and excited to switch. Nearly everyone I know has switched over to Linux in the last couple years, and let me tell you, one of the biggest keys has been availability of native games. It is amusing, though, that the most prolific OS on earth is treated as though nobody is interested in using it, lol. Developers have been abandoning ship there while the ranks swell up with marketing drones. Its not terribly surprising though, since Valve can do very little right most of the time. SteamOS has not been included, many Linux gamers end up being falsely identified as Win users, and sale stats are heavily skewed to report more Win users than anything due poor collection methods. So yeah, Steam usage stats are incompete, skewed, and in many cases, completely broken. I dislike the 'no tux, no bux' mantra, but more truthfully 'We can only support those who support us' seems more cohesive. Huge Megaman fan, so this would be insta-buy if there were a Linux version.
